Republican Liberty Caucus of Ohio launches Ohio Legislature Scorecard

We’ve all seen Legislature scorecards at the federal level, i.e. Freedom Works, and Heritage do an excellent job of digging into federal legislation and ranking the Federal congressional members on how they voted.

What has been missing is this same tool, but at the Ohio State Legislature level,  UNTIL NOW.   WOW

I had an opportunity to attend the launch event in Medina, OH yesterday where the Republican Liberty Caucus of Ohio’s (RLC  Ohio)  Chairman Bill Yarbrough […]

What is the “Central Committee” – Why you need to be on it.

The County Central Committee is the cornerstone of the Political parties. The Party system is designed to be a “Bottoms Up” organization. i.e. decisions are made at the low level (the precinct) and flow up, thru the County Exec committee, the State central Committee, the RNC.

Unfortunately, because of the lack of diligence, this has flipped upside down, and both parties now seem to operate as a “Top Down” structure; everyone at the bottom gets […]

Ohio reps that voted against spending cuts and for increasing taxes on “the rich”

The following is a list of the Ohio federal level Senators and House reps that voted for the fiscal cliff bill.  That is, they voted for:

INCREASING TAXES on 77% of Americans, and especially Obama’s definition of “the rich”, which is Americans that earn over $400,000 (single) or $450,000 (married).  (They already pay the highest percentage of federal income taxes at 35%, but that’s not “fair enough” for Obama.  Under the new […]

Video: Why is it good for taxes to go up only on a small portion of people?

December 31, 2012

“If it’s bad for taxes to go up for a bunch of people, why is it good for taxes to go up only on a small portion of people? … You will take money from the productive sector, which is the private sector, and you will put it into the non-productive sector, which is Washington.” – Rand Paul

Rand Paul told the Politico that the tax hikes in Obama and Reid’s fiscal cliff bill […]

Rand Paul Opposes NDAA After Right to Jury Trial Amendment Stripped

‘A travesty of justice’
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the United States Senate voted on the conference report of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2013 (NDAA), which was stripped of an amendment during the House-Senate conference committee that would have guaranteed Americans the right to due process and a jury trial.

The amendment, introduced by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah), and which passed with a 67-29 vote on Nov. 29, was designed to […]

On Wednesday, OLC Co-founder and American Majority Ohio State Director, Chris Littleton broke the news that Ohio Senator Rob Portman has signed on as a co-sponsor to Rand Paul’s, Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2011, also known as the “Audit the Fed” bill. From Chris Littleton’s posting:

FreedomWorks scorecard for Ohio Reps: Republicans 47, Democrats 15

Republicans 47, Democrats 15. Although it seems like that would be a great score if it was a football game, it’s actually the average scores for our Ohio representatives to congress on FreedomWorks “Key Votes” rating system. The republicans would be doing quite well on scale of 0-50, but, unfortunately for us, the scale is 0-100.  FreedomWorks has scored reps on 16 key votes from bills pertaining to fiscal responsibility, to repealing of Obamacare, […]

ALERT: Two pledges your Ohio reps should sign this election season

There are two pledges available for you to download and take to your Ohio house reps and Ohio state senators this election season – one against the implementation of an Obamacare state insurance exchange and one against imposing an increased severance tax on gas and oil companies. Some reps have already been approached and they are refusing to sign the pledges because they say that they cannot legally do so. The facts are quite […]

Audit the Fed bill passes House, all Ohio republicans EXCEPT ONE vote Yes

Republican Steve Stivers was the only Ohio Congressman to not go on record for the Audit the Fed vote today which passed in the House by a margin of 327 to 98.  (We do not yet know the reason why Stivers didn’t vote on the bill, but if you are in Stivers district, we would recommend that you call his office to ask why he didn’t vote. Please feel free to share your findings […]

Ohio Congressman LaTourette voted to find Eric Holder in civil but not criminal contempt of Congress

Ohio representative Steven LaTourette (R, OH-14), was one of only two republicans to vote against holding Eric Holder in criminal contempt of congress over the Fast and Furious gun running scandal.  From Buckeye Firearms Association’s July 6th article on the scandal:

Lost in the chaos that ensued over Justice John Roberts’ decision to join the liberals and uphold Obamacare last Thursday morning was news of what occurred that very afternoon. Namely, that The vote […]
