Senator Portman Votes for Rand Paul Amendment to Curb Farm Subsidies

Today, the U.S. Senate voted on an amendment to the 2012 Farm Bill introduced by Senator Rand Paul (R, KY).  The amendment would have limited eligible recipients of benefits in the bill to entities that earn an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $250,000 or less.  Unfortunately, the amendment failed to pass by a vote of 15-84.  From a press release sent out from the office Senator Rand Paul:

UPDATE: SB 305 Vehicle Hidden Compartment Bill Passes in Ohio House (and Senate)

SB 305, the Vehicle Hidden Compartment bill, which we’ve been reporting on, passed on the Ohio House floor just after noon today.  The bill was amended on the floor to add the critical changes (mentioned here) proposed by Representative Cliff Rosenberger (R, District 86, Clarksville) followed by passing of the bill with a vote of 77-16.  Once the recorded votes and new version of the bill are available, we will post the link to this article.
