Red apple coreThe second hearing for HB237 is set for Wednesday, November 20 at 5:00pm in Statehouse Room 313 (same room as the first hearing). The Atrium with a video link has been requested for overflow.

From Ohioans against Common Core:

“Representative Thompson believes the primary reason HB237 is receiving a second hearing is the overwhelming support and turnout at the sponsor testimony. Our record turnout put an end to their claim that we are few in numbers. If everyone who attended the first hearing brings a friend we will have a 500+ crowd. Come hear the experts and the professionals testify to why Common Core must be repealed. Mark your calendar now and start organizing your carpool!”

From Representative Gerald Stebelton’s office:

“Based on the level of interest in H.B. 237, we expect to spend a considerable amount of time on the evening of November 20 hearing from witnesses.  We are working to accommodate all witness testimony.  Your assistance is needed to help this important hearing go smoothly.

We request all testimony and a completed witness slip be submitted to Chairman Stebelton’s office by 5 P.M.  on Monday, November 18. Witness slips (see attached) and testimony should be submitted as two separate documents to: Trint.Hatt@ohiohouse.gov

The Chairman’s office will provide the necessary copies of testimony to committee members for all testimony submitted by 5 P.M., Monday, November 18, 2013.

We know that not everyone who would like to testify on H.B. 237 will be able to travel to Columbus for the hearing. We invite anyone who wishes to have their voice heard to submit “written-only” testimony to the above email address. Please indicate you are submitting written-only testimony in the subject line of the e-mail. All written-only testimony will be provided to members of the Education Committee and be part of the official committee record.

Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing many of you at the hearing on Wednesday.”
