Don't let America go Code Blue

What: House Call to Congress, Protest of Government Run Healthcare

When: November 5, 2009, Noon

Where: Capitol Hill, Washington D.C.

We’ve tried phone call after phone call and letter after letter to our representatives telling them that WE WILL NOT STAND FOR A PUBLIC OPTION in healthcare.  We’ve visited our representatives at town halls and told them in no uncertain terms, “Healthcare IS NOT A RIGHT.”  We’ve told them that if they were really interested in more healthcare competition that they should open up INTERSTATE COMPETITION for healthcare insurance.  We burned up the phone lines of Senators Olympia Snowe, and Blanche Lincoln letting them know that they must say no to a public option, there must be no mandates for us to use government insurance, and they must give us time to review a bill.  They ignored us and passed the bill out of Senate committee anyway.

Ohio, we’ve reached the limit.  The bill has grown from 1100 pages to now over 1900 pages.  It has a public option.  It would force all Americans to buy insurance (or face jail time).  It has public funding of abortions.  It has regulation on vending machines.  It has taxes on medical devices, such as pacemakers.  It calls for a healthcare czar.  It’s estimated to cost over $1 TRILLION.  We cannot let this bill pass — not on our watch. They thought that after the 9/12 March that we would just go away.  We’ve warned them that the tea parties are just the beginning and that we are in this for the long haul.  We’ve warned them and shown them that we will not sit by idly and watch America be destroyed from within.  We’ve warned them that we will not sit by and watch the future of our children and grandchildren be wasted and watch them be sold into servitude in the form of oppressing taxation.  Ohio …

IT’S TIME TO TAKE A STAND

Click to listen to our call from Monday’s Glenn Beck radio show about how Ohioans are really stepping up to the plate for this call to action.

I can’t go, but is there another way that I can help?

We currently have people who are not attending for only financial reasons.  Some concerned Americans who are unable to go to this vital protest have decided to make a donation to cover the costs of someone else attending in their place.  We were very surprised by their unanticipated acts of generosity.  Ohio patriots just never cease to amaze us.  We are so appreciative of your help and support in our efforts.  If you cannot attend, but you, too, would still like to help, you can consider making a contribution to the effort by making a donation of $125 so someone else can go.  If you cannot contribute $125, any help is certainly appreciated and we’ll pool donations to send folks.  We need the numbers at this event!  If you make a donation to pay the way for another protestor and we exhaust our stand-by list we will gladly refund your contribution, if you wish.  You can make a donation by following using our Donate button on the right side of this page.  Just specify “House Call” in the comments section when making your donation on PayPal.

Bus Information

COLUMBUS: Brandon Coffey of WALNUT and Ohio Liberty Coalition have reserved three buses that are currently scheduled to depart from the Columbus (CMH) Airport.  We need passengers to arrive at 3:30PM to allow time for collecting payment and assigning folks to buses.  The buses will depart at 5PM sharp.   The ticket cost is $125, which includes a hotel stay in Rockville, MD the night of Nov. 4.  The buses will then depart for the Capitol on the morning of Nov. 5 and return the evening of Nov. 5 to Columbus.  To reserve your seat on a bus, you must RSVP using the form below.  We don’t have time to set up electronic payment, so you will have to pay when you arrive on Wednesday at the airport.  CASH IS PREFERRED or check payment will be accepted if necessary.

Hotel information:

The hotel rooms will be double occupancy (2 people to a room).  If you want a private room at extra cost, we will try to accommodate as best we can, but we need to know by Monday, 11/2 at 5PM.

Bus departure information:

The loading point at the CMH Airport will be: Fast Track Parking, lot 1399 Stelzer Rd Columbus, OH 43219 (click for map)

RSVP – Columbus Bus Trip to DC

Columbus RSVPs are currently full.  A 3rd bus was added for Columbus to handle the large influx of RSVPs that we received Monday morning and afternoon.  If you are booked on a bus, you should have received an email confirmation by now.  Unfortunately, we had some RSVPs that came in after 5PM on Monday that we were unable to accommodate.   However, if folks want to carpool, you can organize that on our rideshare website.  Ohio, you never cease to amaze us.  Thank you SO much for your patience and patriotism.  We’re proud to stand with you.

Signs or flags are permitted. Poles are permitted but cannot be more than 3/4″ across and must be made of wood. D.C. restrictions are posted here.

I had planned on bringing my professional camera like I did on 9/12. One of the replies said “Signs, posters, poles, backpacks will be left on the steps outside and carted off by Capitol Police.” Will I be able to bring my camera bag to the event and carry it into the StateHouse? I’d hate to leave it outside to be carried out.

We don’t plan on having any extra seats on the buses. It depends on how many people ride the metro vs. taking the bus into DC. We can’t predict that at this time, unfortunately. Thanks for the inquiry.

We cannot anticipate how many seats will be available on the bus from the hotel to the Capital since it depends on the number of people that choose to take the metro instead of the bus.
