I know that you do appreciate your local group leaders. We all do. I also know that we thank them when we see them and often show our appreciation in other ways. But, after talking with so many Liberty Leaders across Ohio and across the nation, I feel that we need to take one day out of the year and really let them know how much we all appreciate what they do. After all, without them there would be no Liberty Movement!
Quite frankly, as much as we all appreciate what they do, few group members realize even half of what they actually do. It is not just the time they spend planning, writing and printing materials, setting up, and running and tearing down your meetings and other activities. It is the time they spend on conference calls, or traveling to meetings, or writing those emails or press releases or facebook postings or stories for the web page. It is the time they spend talking to candidates, talking to you, talking to other liberty leaders, talking to the media. All while being held accountable and scrutinized for every statement and every word, with the added responsibility of making sure that they don’t do something that reflects poorly on you and your group and our movement. Then as a reward they have crazy people attacking them, and even their families, in letters to the editor, on facebook, with emails and phone calls and even in person!
Our Liberty Leaders have been on the front lines for five years or longer in many cases. The cost to them in real dollars, in stress on their family and spouse, in declining physical health and damage to their jobs and family businesses are the price they have been willing to pay for Liberty. It is a heavy price and it has killed far too many, caused far too many divorces, cost too many lost jobs and closed too many businesses. We owe them all a debt of gratitude, and this Saturday, I think it would only be appropriate for all of us to make a payment on that debt.
I ask that you:
• Take them out to breakfast, lunch or dinner
• Take them cookies, a pie or your favorite dish that they can share with their family
• Send her flowers or chocolates or a basket of fruit
• Take him or her out for a round of golf or fishing or a ride on your boat
• Send them a gift card for a dinner or movie
• Or just write them a personal note or give them a call
Let’s show them the love and respect they deserve this Saturday in a tangible way! Besides, if we do, they just might stick around a little longer and then we will not have to do their job!!
PLEASE POST THIS ON FACEBOOK AND EMAIL IT TO EVERYONE IN OUR MOVEMENT SO EVERY GROUP IN THE NATION HEARS ABOUT IT AND EVERY LEADER FEELS OUR LOVE!
