Governor Kasich will give his annual “State of the State” address in Medina, Ohio this Monday.  Members of the Portage County Tea Party have organized a rally outside the event to let the governor know how they feel about his pro big government policies:

  • Implementing Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion
  • Cementing federal control of our schools through Common Core
  • Proposing a fracking tax
  • Instituting a phony income tax cut by raising the sales tax
  • Using taxpayer dollars to subsidize business with Jobs Ohio

Medina was chosen as it is the home of Speaker William Batchelder who will be honored at the event for his 46 year career in public service.  It is only right as attendees consider the Speaker’s legacy, that Governor Kasich use the opportunity to thank Speaker Batchelder for his willingness to skirt the General Assembly by stacking the Controlling Board to get Medicaid expansion passed.

Please come out and exercise some free speech with fellow OLC members:

Date/Time: Monday, February 24th at 6:00 p.m.

Location: Medina Performing Arts Center, 851 Weymouth Road, Medina, OH 44256

The Medina police are allowing people to gather on the sidewalks leading into the center, however, it is important that that any pedestrians who are entering the building are not impeded.  There are other groups that plan to protest the governor.  Members of the Portage Tea Party rally are asked not to engage with other groups so as to remain above the fray.  Our voices will best be heard if we remain professional and respectful.

Be creative and bring appropriate signs and good spirit.  Here’s a good one for you:

OBAMA HAS HIS EXECUTIVE ORDERS

KASICH HAS HIS CONTROLLING BOARD

And let Speaker Batchelder and Senate President Faber know how you feel too:

WHY DO WE NEED A GENERAL ASSEMBLY

WHEN WE HAVE THE CONTROLLING BOARD????
