Westboro Baptist Church threatening to protest Ohio sailor’s funeral in Delphos on Tuesday

Printer Friendly Version

The Westboro Baptist Church sent out the attached news release (also see at the end of this posting) announcing a protest being organized for Tuesday, August 21 in proximity of St. John’s Catholic Church (331 E 2nd St, Delphos, OH) during the funeral of Chief Petty Officer Keith Bemis.

A “Protest the Protestors” Facebook page has been created by a friend of the Bemis family encouraging patriots in the area to show up and form a human wall around the church. From the Facebook page:

ATTENTION DELPHOS AND SURROUNDING AREA COMMUNITY!!!! This message is from a High School friend, Allison Bemis. Her Brother, Keith Bemis, a member of the United States Navy tragically died last week.

“So, I know I have asked many things of you in the past few days. My older brother will be buried this Tuesday at Saint John’s. Westboro baptist church has made plans to come to protest this funeral. I’m not just asking for help. I’m begging. Please come to the funeral and form a wall around Saint John’s. These people are a blight and my family has hurt enough from this.”

I am trying to form a Protest the Protestors, and as in Allie’s words form a wall around St. John’s Church. I don’t care if you went to St. John’s, Jefferson, Fort Jennings or Lima, From Ohio or Tennessee…this is something that is just sickening. I try not to post anything to political, but this just is heartbreaking…
If you are interested in attending the funeral and helping this family, please sign up to attend the “Protest the Protestors” event on Facebook.
(Note: at the time of this writing the Westboro protest is not yet listed on the Westboro Baptist Church Picket Schedule page. Make sure you monitor the “Protest the Protestors” Facebook page to keep up with the latest developments.)

NEWS RELEASE

GOD HATES AMERICA & IS KILLING
OUR TROOPS IN HIS WRATH.

Military funerals have become pagan orgies of
idolatrous blasphemy, where they pray to the
dunghill gods of Sodom & play taps to a fallen fool.

This message to be preached in respectful, lawful proximity
to the memorial of CPO John K. Bemis

Tuesday, August 21, at 10:15 a.m.
St. John’s Catholic Church,
331 E. 2nd Street, Delphos, OH

CPO Bemis gave his life for the Constitutional right of WBC to
warn America. To deny us our First Amendment rights is to
declare to the world that CPO Bemis died in vain, and that
America is a nation of sodomite hypocrites.

“Except the Lord build the house, They labor in vain that build it;
Except the Lord keep the city, The watchman waketh but in vain.”
Psa. 127:1.

The Lord no longer builds the American house; nor does the Lord
watch over and protect America. These soldiers are dying for
the homosexual and other sins of America. God is now
America’s enemy, and God Himself is fighting against America.
THANK GOD FOR IEDs.

Be careful please, I trust you’ve heard of the tricks of the westboro scam artists. They Protest something like this to get people to attack them, and then after you attack them, they sue you for everything your worth. Please, save yourselves the trouble and do not do anything to them. Peaceful protest is the best way, no matter what they say or do.

  2. You seem to forget, Westboro Baptists, or haven’t read your Bibles lately, that Jesus, our Savior died for EVERYONE, the sinners, of which all of us are, and the righteous, which are few. He never would have tolerated a protest like this, and would have probably said for the ones without sin “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” (John 8:7b) Jesus did not name any particular kind of person for whom He died, but went willingly to the cross for ALL. (Read John 3:16-17) This young man went to his death willingly, also, as many martyrs have.

You shouldn’t point fingers at other cults Gloria, It’s not just the Westboro Baptists who preach this kind of hate, but all major religions in the world. Including all of Christanity. The WBs are just more in your face about it. Yes, Jesus said in John 3:16 that “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, “,But here is what your “savior” Jesus also said about nonbelievers, and i quote…
Luke 19:27 English Standard Version (ESV)
“But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.”
Doesn’t sound like he “went to the cross for ALL” to me. Just the 33% of the worlds population who have ever even herd of him. Oh, and then you have to “repent” and believe all the unprovable nonsence that comes with the rest of the Bible or else you get slaughtered before him too.
Untill people wake up and stop believing in all these old outdated superstitious fairy tales written by uneducated middle eastern camel jockeys 2000 years ago and start thinking with reason and logic, this is the kind of appalling crap that the world is going to have to put up with.
